People complain all the time, about pretty much everything. Now, I’m not saying I never do, but somehow, having a camera with me at all times pushes me to be on the lookout for something unusual. By doing so, I get to see small details that sometimes get ignored by the routines of this fast paced city. Everyone rushes to go to work on time, to get home on time, to ignore everyone around them and only follow their preplanned trajectory.
So, how about this, if the tube is too busy – why not take the bus?, or walk a little – and yes you might be a little late, but you get to see things. I’m not going to lie, I sometimes struggle to keep up with this city – everyone is always a few steps ahead of everyone else, or tries to be. So while I try to keep up with it all, I find the things that everyone is too busy to see, keep me on track. We have to make the most of these finer details in life because that is what keeps us going.
All these images have been shot in the UK this year, and yes, people complain it’s cold, rainy, expensive, grey and crowded but it all depends on how you look at it.
