Haux’s ‘Ricochet’ is a cinematic, transformative ballad

The dulcet tones of Haux return on his tender new track ‘Ricochet’.

Haunting piano melodies introduce ‘Ricochet’ and we couldn’t think of a better introduction. The husky vocals of Haux enter like a gentle hug around the shoulders. An atmospheric drumbeat intrudes – as haunting female backing vocals accompany Haux in his beautiful masterpiece.

This one is definitely a love song and not one for the faint hearted. It will leave you transfixed and emotional, as its expansive melodies guide you through a kaleidoscope of emotions.

“While recording the final vocals for ‘Ricochet’ I was reminded of the empty living room and the Bechstein. I remembered the woman who sold me the piano saying it had been in her family all of her life and that her grandmother had played it every morning growing up until her husband left her. She said that she never played it again after that. The family had the piano maintained but it was never the same, she said. That story hit me hard and was all that I could think about when I sang, “If I’m the rock, you’re the ricochet”.

Haux is a photographer turned musician based in New York, whose ability to create cinematic instrumentals is second to known.

The sensational new release from Haux is a right tearjerker. ‘The fireflies they multiple, as they escape from you’. He sings.

‘Ricochet’ is taken from his ‘Something to Remember’ EP, which is due to drop on The 30th March, and quite frankly we can’t wait.
