20-Year-Old, East London based Zoey Lily returns with her charming, left field pop track ‘More.’
Delving into music at the young age of 13, Zoey was raised within the hustling streets of London and the picturesque countryside of Southern France. It was at this tender young age that Zoey picked up her fathers guitar for the very first time.
Folk guitar melodies cradle her new pop offering ‘More’. Expansive vocals that are raspy and delicate float harmoniously along minimal production; overall the production is simple and exquisite, combining a small amount of instrumentals layered upon one and other. This delicate new pop track from Zoey gives us all the tell tale signs that she’s definitely one to watch.
Speaking on the track she said,”I wrote this song about a guy I met a while ago who left the impression of being the super cool kid everyone admired and wanted to be like. When I got to know him closer I realised that he was struggling a lot to keep up with the image he created himself and actually felt very worthless and empty. In his own way he kept letting me down because he wasn’t able to let me in.”
‘More’ is a personal story that’s delivered with such grace. There’s a warmth to the track whether it be the deep bass that’s intertwined amongst the country-esque guitar instrumentals or within Zoey’s solemn storytelling.
