Joe Hicks is one for unconventional musical getaways.
Last summer, the singer-songwriter booked a small converted garage in St Ives, Cornwall that had no internet and no phone signal in order to record his EP. More recently, Joe decided to organise a jam session at an old RAF base near Newbury. Because why the hell not.
“I wanted to get some friends together to jam out some of my songs in an intimate setting and record it all live,” he explained. “The space is soon to be closed down as it’s left over from the Second World War so it was brilliant to get such a great vibe going in a room that has seen so much.”
Favourites such as Best Clothes and Something In The Water got a run out, while Talk To Me, an as of yet unreleased track, also made its way onto the impromptu setlist.
Luckily, tmrw’s very own Jack Margerison was on hand to film the entire thing. Check out some exclusive behind-the-scenes images below.
