KOCHÉ AND THIERRY LASRYDROP NEW SUNGLASSES LINE
Parisian label Koché has collaborated with luxury eyewear designer Thierry Lasry for a new capsule range of sunglasses. Debuted at the Soché SS19 runway show, the new “Cobalt” line is handmade in France boasting a flat-fronted design with an ’80s-inspired, performance-style silhouette.
Launched in 2006, the eyewear brand blends vintage style with a modern and more updated touch. When discussing the process and inspiration behind this distinctive collection, Koché founder, Christelle Kocher, explained: “We used a new technique to get a very unusual lens shape on the top of the glasses: cut and bevelled. Their name is Cobalt because the inspiration comes from the superhero Cobalt Man.”
In recent years, Thierry Lasry has collaborated with several fashion houses such as Enfants Riches Déprimés and Acne Studios, as well as artists such as designer Kelly Wearstler and tattoo icon Dr. Woo. Let’s not forget, the brand has also partnered with the iconic Italian Fashion House Fendi for a sunglasses capsule collection back in 2016.
The Thierry Lasry collection is now distributed in around 50 countries and can be found in elite fashion and lifestyle retailers such as Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Selfridges, Le Bon Marché, Liberty London and Dover Street Market. You can browse the collection here.
