Watch This Space: Alpha P is set for a huge 2024

Princewell Emmanuel, renowned by his stage name Alpha-P, is a gifted singer-songwriter hailing from Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.

Drawing inspiration from genres like Trap, R&B, and the rich tapestry of Afrobeats, his musical palette was shaped by iconic artists such as Wizkid, Wande Coal, D’banj, Banky W, as well as international sensations like Drake, Lana Del Rey, The Weeknd, and Khalid. This diverse influence has resulted in Alpha-P’s distinctive style of blending genres seamlessly. Notably, he recently contributed to the soundtrack of Coming to America 2 and collaborated with Omah Lay on the Afrobeat remix of Justin Bieber’s hit, “Peaches.”. We had the privilege of catching up with Alpha-P during his visit to London before returning to Lagos.

“I look up to Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy for three distinct reasons. Burna Boy’s journey teaches patience, Wizkid’s rise to superstardom from the hood against all odds is inspiring, and Davido’s relentless work ethic and confidence are truly admirable. Having had the opportunity to work with all three of them, their stories have been my guidebook. I’ve been doing shows since I was 12, so music practically runs in my veins. But I feel like my sound doesn’t conform to a specific genre; I’m constantly creating and blending different styles to craft unique projects”.
