French-Moroccan rising talent Soane releases brand new EP "She Was" OUT TODAY

Bridging Paris and New York, French-Moroccan artist Soane delivers her captivating five track EP She Was.

Spanning five tracks, She Was is an elegant, emotive body of work, shaped by vivid storytelling and rich R&B textures. The opening track, “Bluer Skies,” blends delicate instrumentation with Soane’s smooth, arresting vocals. Rooted in her signature understated warmth and poetic introspection, she sings, “You know where to find me, you know where I hide,” unfolding a tale of longing and imagined escape. “Fountains” follows as a sensual, self-assured exploration of desire on one’s own terms, the track moves through lush percussion and shimmering synths to create a hypnotic backdrop. Soane’s voice remains the anchor, fluid, commanding, and layered with nostalgic, seductive harmonies as she sings “Can you feel the rush, keeping you awake, longing for my touch, addicted to the taste,”.

Lead track, “Forever,” glides through sultry melodies, syncopated rhythms, and bright brass lines. With its infectious chorus and stacked harmonies, it stands as both bold and timeless. From there,“Edge of the Night” lowers the tempo, leaning into an atmospheric, wistful mood as Soane’s unmistakable vocals take centre stage. Closing the project, “Hills” offers a haunting, futuristic finish, its production winding through unexpected turns, pairing airy melodies with understated intensity.

It’s a compelling final chapter to a project that feels both intimate and expansive.

Delving into the story behind the EP: “She Was’ traces the echo of the woman I used to be. The one who loved too carefully, dreamed loudly, and learnt to stand in her own silence. Each song is a piece of her I had to find before I could move on.”

An introduction to Soane’s artistic universe, her debut EP First Taste in 2019 featured the standout track “Teach Me How to Touch Me,” which quickly garnered over 300K streams and earned a powerful remix from US based dance producer KC Gilmore. The remix quickly received global recognition, surpassing 4M streams and attracting a fresh, diverse audience to Soane’s rapidly expanding fanbase. Capitalising on this momentum, Soane further solidified her trajectory with the release of singles “Xx” and “La Peine” (2023) - highlighting her growing artistry and profound emotional depth.

Following the release of “Bluer Skies” and “Fountains,” which earned recognition from COLORSXSTUDIO, WONDERLAND, and FOUNDATION FM, Soane continues her upward momentum. With She Was arriving on November 28th, she leans further into her emotional depth and creative precision, shaping songs that feel intimate, resonant, and enduring. As 2025 progresses and 2026 nears, Soane is firmly establishing herself as a standout voice on the rise.
