Bryan Chase doesn't overcomplicate things. Ask him about "OUTSIDE," his latest single featuring BIG Naughty, and he'll tell you it started somewhere simple: the feeling of being a kid who couldn't be kept indoors. "Growing up, nothing could stop me from going outside," he says. That desire – to move, to escape, to find something real beyond four walls – has followed him across continents and into his music.

Chase is Korean-American, born in the US, now rooted in Seoul. The move wasn't seamless. "The culture, language, and social interactions were all very different from what I was used to," he admits. But that became its own kind of education, giving him something most artists spend years searching for: a genuine point of view. The in-between space, culturally and sonically, is where his best work lives.

He first made his name as part of The Cohort, the hip-hop collective that also counts Keith Ape and Okasian among its members, at a time when Korea's underground scene was still working out what it wanted to be. "Everyone was unapologetically themselves," Chase recalls. "That's something I've tried to hold onto throughout my career." It's a lesson that has outlasted a decade of industry navigation. Last year he signed with Universal Music Korea, and the creative momentum since has been relentless – new collaborators, new sounds, a clearer sense of direction.

"OUTSIDE," featuring BIG Naughty – who rose to prominence on Show Me The Money 8 and is signed to H1ghr Music – is the latest product of that momentum. "His vocal tone and melody really gave the song a new life," he says of the collaboration. The result is loose and warm, built around a feeling rather than a concept, which is increasingly how Chase likes to work. "Sometimes the most honest ideas are the ones that come naturally."

Ten years in, his definition of what any of this is for has settled into something quieter and more durable. "I want to keep discovering new sounds, exploring deeper layers of myself, and continuing to evolve while staying authentic."
