Back in March, Tom Misch released his 5 Day Mischon EP, which saw him create 5 songs in 5 days with artists such as Novelist and Will Heard.
Now Misch is back, with perhaps his most polished track to date.
‘South of the River’ is yet another jam from the jazz pop singer-songwriter, only what is interesting to note in this particular in this instance is the violin riff – something I never thought I’d be commenting on.
The riff is certain to be stuck on a loop in your head for hours, with it evoking a more disco feel. Fusing this with his classic guitar licks and a funky-as-hell bassline, makes for a groove-tastic track that you can’t help but feel tempted to dance to. It’s a song devoted to where he’s from, and it seems to be an homage filled to the brim with love and soul.
However, don’t get too excited just yet, folks. Misch has had to quell excitement for a potential album following the track on social media:
People asking me to hurry up on my album… I’m guna take my time and make the best album I can. I’m not in any rush

If ‘South of the River’ is anything to go by, it’ll definitely be worth the wait.
