South Korean boy group CIX, short for “Complete in X,” has gained traction worldwide for their unique sound that blends elements of Pop, R&B, and Dance music. With a highly anticipated international tour set for this spring and the recent release of their seventh album, THUNDER FEVER, CIX is poised to continue making waves in the K-pop world.

Consisting of four members, BX, Seunghun, Yonghee, and Hyunsuk, CIX’s journey has been marked by strong teamwork and shared experiences. Their commitment to one another, along with their growing fanbase known as FIX (Faith in X), drive their musical growth.

“I think the best strength of CIX and promoting together as CIX is that whenever we are going through any hardships or challenges, we have someone to rely on,” said BX. “We are always open to discuss those and really rely on each other.”

Having all met in their 20s with an equal commitment to their music, Yonghee uses the word “youth” to define their group. As they work together as a team, each member of CIX brings a unique quality that contributes to the overall presence. Seunghun, the main vocalist, showcases a wide vocal range capable of delivering powerful high notes.

Yonghee, who contributes sub vocals and dancing, also plays a key role in maintaining the good chemistry of the group.

“I try to bring kindness and understanding to the other members, because we are working as humans – we are only human,” he said. “I think it's very important to bring that quality.”

Hyunsuk shared that on top of his vocal talents, his added height brings an element of weight and power to their performances. BX, the main rapper, infuses an edge into their music, completing their sound. “Whenever I'm making a rap, I think it really brings a stronger impact to each of our songs. And I think that really completes who we are and what our music is,” BX said.

Yongee explained that as they work together to shape their sound, they are continuously growing and evolving. “We always try to think, what is the next direction for CIX's music?” he said. “We are open to all the different opinions, and we are willing to take those in and make better music in the future.”

BX discussed the ongoing journey and effort the group invests in developing their unique style and delivering the best music for their supporters. As fans recognize CIX's dedication, their commitment to hard work and consistent improvement grows.

“We have always been trying, are still trying, to really build and establish our own style. And I think we still have a long way to go to really finalize that," said BX. “Our fans are starting to notice and really see what is our style and what is our music. We are very determined to continue working hard.”

With each album telling a new story, the group’s evolving sound is evident in their latest release, THUNDER FEVER. Seunghun, the lead vocalist, explained the concept for the album. “We wanted to focus more on the emotion of love by comparing it to fever or like natural phenomena like thunder and lightning,” he said. “We really wanted to kind of stay away from the whole universe story for this album, particularly, and what we wanted to talk more about is love.”

The group expressed that all the hours of hard work put into the album are made worthwhile, knowing they have the support of FIX. BX shared his favorite moment working on the music video in Hong Kong. “It was very humid and hot weather," said BX. "But just imagining how our fans would enjoy the final product of this album and the music video and everything, it just kept us going, and we were just totally excited throughout the whole product."

The team shared their excitement for the new release and its accompanying music video. With striking visual effects of thunder and lightning, the video enhances the song’s dramatic and intense emotions. “For our last dance break in the music video, that scene was actually filmed in front of a green screen,” said Yongee “When we saw the final product, the final music video. We also thought that...even though it was CGI, it looked very realistic. So I was very impressed by that.”

CIX expressed their anticipation for the upcoming world tour and the opportunity to reconnect with their fans. Seunghun noted that because international tours are rare, each moment becomes even more special for both the group and their supporters. Hyunsuk shared that the most meaningful part of performing live is the emotional connection with the audience.

“Towards the end of the concert, we usually sing a little bit of a ballad song, and sometimes we can see our fans just tearing up or crying whenever we are singing ballads,” he said. “I think that's a really touching moment that is special and memorable for us.”

Byounggon added that the most rewarding part of performing is hearing praise for their hard work. “The best thing we can hear after a concert is how good the performance was. It’s such a satisfying and proud moment for all of us because we always put in so much effort,” he said.

Each member shared their personal favorite songs and the reasons behind their choices: “‘Movie Star' is our debut track, and the song is just great. And you know it's, it's got a special place in our heart,” said Hyunsuk.

“My personal favorite is 'Everything,'” said Yonghee “It's a very soft song that goes well with any kind of situation. So that is my favorite song of ours.”

BX shared he has special emotions towards the song "Rewind."

“I don't know if it's because I'm a rapper, but I think the performance and the song is very cool, and it's very cool to perform that song,” he said.

“I would say 'Cinema,'” said Seunghun. “Whenever we perform that song for our international fans, they have a lot of fun with it. They give so much love and cheers to that song, so that song has become more memorable for me.”

Reflecting on their five-year journey, Hyunsuk shared how much they’ve grown.

“From debut until now, we’ve been fortunate to have great songs. But over time, we’ve grown individually, and that’s helped shape our collective sound.”

With an unwavering dedication to their music and fans, CIX’s unique sound and killer dance moves are sure to continue furthering their impact on the K-pop world.
