At Nineteen Years Old, Alex Farell Is Showing He’s Still “Youngest in Charge”

Interview by Ahmari Cameron

As one of the youngest producers in the scene right now, Alex Farell has already lived several lives in dance music. But the space that once was a release—a ritual and space to have fun—feels more like pressure and expectations. Farell’s mission is to strip down the limiting beliefs and make the space be what it once was. Fun, an escape from the pressures of everyday life, and a language between him and the turntables that carries itself to the floor.

His anticipated 10-track release “Youngest in Charge” serves as a new, more clear direction for Farell. It’s the checkpoint he needed to reach in order to influence culture. It’s not just a record that has great care and intention built into it, it’s a love letter to the techno community.

tmrw sat down with Farell to know how a 14-year old ends up playing a club resulting in a global tour and a friendship with Sara Landry.
