The first thing to know about rising K-pop group AMPERS&ONE is that they are fun. On a sunny autumn morning in London, the group's energetic arrival to the location for our portrait session gradually fills the otherwise quiet street with laughter and excited chatter in Korean. Between group photographs and individual portrait sessions, the members joke around, film vlogs, and make the most of the time they have together. They have even researched the area, discovering that a famous Harry Potter scene was filmed nearby; it becomes another stop on our itinerary this morning.

“We like to have fun,” KYRELL tells tmrw later that day. It is a straightforward observation, but one that goes some way towards explaining the group's appeal: there is an ease to their camaraderie that extends beyond the music they make together and into the performances they deliver on stage.

They have plenty to celebrate, too. The morning marks their first day after completing their 2026 ‘Born To Define’ tour, which saw them perform twenty-eight shows across three continents between May and September. London was the final stop on their first-ever European tour, following dates in Berlin, Warsaw, Amsterdam, Paris and Cologne, and bringing another chapter of an already busy year to a close.

The tour began in Seoul in May, with AMPERS&ONE travelling across the US and Asia before reaching Europe. Along the way, the group continued to build on the momentum of DEFINITION, their fourth mini album, released shortly before the tour began. According to Hanteo Chart, the record sold more than 150,000 copies in its first week, setting a new personal best for the group.

Musically, AMPERS&ONE’s catalogue reflects a group comfortable moving between different sounds. “GOD” – the title track of DEFINITION – pairs the plucked sound of the gayageum, a traditional Korean instrument, with hip-hop percussion, while its choreography incorporates traditional Korean fan movements. Elsewhere, “Broken Heart” leans into punchy pop production and striking choreography, while the drill-inflected “My Way” offers a harder-hitting contrast to the softer, piano-led dance-pop of “He + She = We”. Across these tracks, the group draws on distinct influences while maintaining a shared emphasis on performance and energy.

After the photo session, we walk-and-talk through London's streets before settling into a booth at The 411. The conversation moves between the tour, the audiences they encountered, the music they want to make, and the kind of team they hope to become.

For AMPERS&ONE, the experience has been about more than taking their performances to new places. With several milestones behind them and their first European tour complete, the group now have a wealth of experiences to draw on as they look towards the next chapter.
