For K-pop group CIX, their eighth mini album GO Chapter 1 : GO Together marks the beginning of a new chapter in their Dante-inspired saga – but it also sharpens their identity.
Where past releases by the group leaned into despair, struggle, and search, their latest body of work pivots toward salvation and connection, with the members themselves – BX, SEUNGHUN, YONGHEE and HYUNSUK – calling it a journey toward their own version of heaven. Across four tracks which marks the start of a new era for CIX, they balance urgency with intimacy, stitching their lore into songs that feel just as much about their bond with FIX – their fans – as they do about the mythic narrative they’ve been building.
Above everything, what stands out in their reflections is how naturally CIX translates music into visual and emotional language. Each member has a different way of interpreting: BX filters everything through the lens of storytelling and lore, SEUNGHUN zeroes in on vocal challenges, YONGHEE brings in colors and atmosphere, and HYUNSUK often speaks to public impact or personal attachment. Taken together, their perspectives show a group that doesn’t just perform songs but inhabits them – seeing sound as color, mood, and narrative thread all at once.
That approach gives GO Together a deliberate arc. It opens with “S.O.S,” an anthemic plea that feels powerful enough to stand as a title track, before moving into “Wonder You,” the pop-driven centerpiece they describe as “unmistakably CIX.” “Upstander” pushes back against a story first told in their HELLO era with sultry theatricality, while “In My Dreams” closes the set on a tender, dreamlike note – the kind of track BX imagines as the perfect finale for a concert. The sequencing itself mirrors a journey: from urgent call, to identity, to duality, to reflection. GO Together is CIX showing not just where they’ve been, but what comes next.
We interviewed the four members of CIX about each song on the mini-album, and the result? A deeply revealing insight into their strongest musical work yet – read on to experience GO Chapter 1 : GO Together like never before.
TRACK 1 – “S.O.S”
BX When I first heard it, I immediately thought, “This feels like a title track.” It’s exactly the kind of style I personally love, and I think it’s also a song that fans can really enjoy together. While writing the lyrics and fitting them into the melody, I felt both proud and excited.
SEUNGHUN When we all gathered with our CEO to listen to the demo, I honestly wondered, “Is ‘S.O.S’ going to be the title track?” The melody was very addictive, and it stuck with me so much that I could sing along after just one listen. I think it would be really fun to try an exciting title track with this kind of band sound sometime in the future.
YONGHEE I want to talk about images and colors that come to my mind when thinking of each track. For “S.O.S,” the color green comes to mind. It’s such a good song, worthy of being a title track. Since it’s upbeat and fast-paced, it feels great to listen to when you’re in a good mood, but the lyrics, asking to be saved from a precarious state, make it equally meaningful to listen to when you’re having a hard day.
HYUNSUK It’s a refreshing song. Among all the tracks on this album, I felt it could appeal the most to the public, so it immediately became my favorite the first time I heard it! When paired with the choreography, it’s strong enough that it could easily stand as another title track.
TRACK 2 – “니가 궁금해 (WONDER YOU)”
BX This is the song that best showcases CIX’s uniqueness and signature style. While writing the lyrics for “니가 궁금해 (WONDER YOU),” I tried to reflect CIX’s universe story or lore, which meant a lot of thinking and countless revisions. Because it was such a difficult process, I feel proud because I think it allowed me to grow a step further as an artist.
SEUNGHUN When I first heard it, I thought it was such a sophisticated track, and the color white came to mind. Compared to the first track, “S.O.S,” it may be a little less mainstream, but as soon as I listened to it, I immediately felt, “This is CIX’s song,” so I didn’t want to let this song go. It truly feels like the perfect definition of a ‘CIX’s style.’
YONGHEE The color white comes to mind for me as well. Since it’s a song with a background of paradise, I personally think it’s a perfect track to listen to in the morning to start the day with more energy. Its high notes made recording quite tough, but hearing that fans enjoy it makes me feel proud.
HYUNSUK This song is closely connected to CIX’s lore. The lyrics also express that storyline, and the track as a whole carries a sexy nuance, which makes it enjoyable both to watch and to listen to.
TRACK 3 – “UPSTANDER”
BX This song is already great on its own, with both the melody and lyrics. But what makes it even more interesting is that it’s written as the complete opposite theme of “Bystander” from our 2nd mini album, HELLO Chapter 2 : Hello, Strange Place. If you listen to the two songs side by side, you’ll be able to enjoy them even more!
SEUNGHUN It’s a track with an alluring, sexy mood, which I found quite charming. I had been looking forward to recording it even before we started the actual recording. Since each member brought out an individually unique style while singing, I think this is the song that showcases our charms the most.
YONGHEE This track reminds me of a musical theater. There’s definitely a sexy vibe, but also a unique atmosphere that belongs only to this song. Since it’s also connected to the CIX’s previous track and lore, like BX mentioned, I think it’s even more enjoyable when you listen to it alongside “Bystander” from our 2nd mini album.
HYUNSUK Personally, this is my favorite track on the album. What stood out to me the most was how its sexy melody contrasts with the powerful beat; it left a strong impression.
TRACK 4 – “환상 속의 그대 (IN MY DREAMS)”
BX I thought this would be the perfect song to perform near the end of a concert! We always share our emotions with fans as we wrap up a show. And both the melody and lyrics of this track, as well as the overall mood, seem to match that moment perfectly.
SEUNGHUN Up until the first verse, I thought it was a full ballad track, but once the rhythmic beat kicked in from the second verse, I thought, “Ah, I can really sing this well.” Personally, I’m more confident with rhythmic ballads than traditional, slow ballads, so I naturally grew very attached to this song.
YONGHEE When I think of “환상 속의 그대 (IN MY DREAMS),” the color pink comes to mind. After finishing the recording, I felt even more affection for it. It’s a soft and warm song, and I think it will complete the mood beautifully when you listen to it in a calm moment.
HYUNSUK It’s a track defined by its dreamy melody. I especially loved the hook and the melody that leads into the final hook. The recording turned out really well too, so I was very satisfied with this song.
