Eden Pushes Boundaries With New Avant-Pop Single “Gggiiiiirrrrlllll”
Irish vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and producer EDEN drops his latest single gggiiiiirrrrlllll. Serving as the next single from his forthcoming album Dark, set for release later this year, this avant-pop track draws from a rich palette of atmospheric textures, pulsating rhythms, and glitch-infused beats - elements that have quickly become synonymous with EDEN’s sound. EDEN's work speaks to a generation navigating the digital landscape, offering a voice that is both vulnerable and unflinchingly honest, which has helped propel EDEN to over 2 Billion career streams across platforms.
While grounded in pop structures, gggiiiiirrrrlllll leans into experimentation, challenging mainstream conventions with a raw, unfiltered edge. Clear pop influences meet sonic abstraction, showcasing EDEN’s drive to both disrupt and redefine what pop music can be.
At its core, EDEN’s music offers a deeply introspective and honest reflection of modern life, resonating with a generation navigating a world shaped by digital culture. His lyrical vulnerability and immersive production speak to themes of identity, connection, and self-exploration, delivered through layered vocals and textured soundscapes that feel both vast and intimate.
Speaking on the making of his upcoming project, EDEN shares; “The album took its first steps toward life in 2022. I made Still and Quantuuuum in a two week span at the end of November. Both ideas that had been bouncing around my head for some time. The album title in parallel had been something I was thinking about for about a year. Ideas of a sprawling, diverse project. The next Spring, while on tour, I made Ghost in the Shell and Pocket - Zzz and gggiiiiirrrrlllll came right after. I made a lot of music this time around. And through creating and abandoning, slowly the body started to form itself.”
Complementing the music is EDEN’s growing multidisciplinary vision. He recently launched The EDEN Post, a self-curated zine that brings together a community of artists across visual and written mediums. Moving in tandem with his music, this visual companion offers fans a tangible, interactive extension of his world - bridging the gap between his sonic and visual narratives.
“Featuring EDEN’s warm and alluring vocals, the track wraps the listener in a narrative that perfectly describes the feeling of a Friday night at a club” - EUPHORIA
More on EDEN
EDEN, born Jonathon Ng in Dublin, Ireland, is an artist who defies traditional genre boundaries, blending electronic, indie, and alternative elements into a deeply personal soundscape. Emerging from the digital underground in the mid-2010s, EDEN first gained traction through self-released EPs End Credits (2015) and i think you think too much of me (2016), which collectively reached almost one billion streams worldwide and started to garner mass popularity for him in the scene. His music, characterized by atmospheric textures, glitchy beats, and layered vocals, often explores themes of identity, mental health, and the complexities of modern life like in his debut album, vertigo (2018), which was lauded for its raw, introspective lyrics and innovative production.
A vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and producer, EDEN crafts his songs with a meticulous attention to detail, often incorporating field recordings and unconventional sound design techniques. His follow-up album, no future (2020), continued to push the envelope, showcasing a more expansive and cinematic approach to songwriting while retaining the intimate, confessional tone that has become his trademark.
Following up his 2020 album, the eleven genre-defying tracks on ICYMI (2022) are made up of R&B hooks, ambient field recordings, crate-digging samples, and euphoric beats to tell the story of EDEN’s journey from a place of mourning and isolation to one of community and joy. As a producer his techniques are more experimental than ever, but the songwriting is a timeless blend of melody and soul.
As he continues to evolve, EDEN remains a unique force in contemporary music, challenging listeners to engage with his art on a deeper, more emotional level moving into his latest project Dark (2025) set to release this coming summer. The project displays a newly found optimism with the idea that some things that feel so intense are out of your hands, and the only way to live with it is to take the weight off your shoulders and find the beauty around you. A long awaited finale unfolding, Dark holds an early 2020’s border-less inspiration, effervescently smashing and cutting into itself leaving behind only a moment’s memory.
