Vienna Based Rising Artist Filly Releases New Single And Video For “Serious”
DEBUT PROJECT TO COME SOON
Today, emerging Vienna- based artist FILLY collaborates with French indie band The Teenagers on their new single and video, “Serious,” out now via Slowplay/Interscope Records/Bamboo Artists.
This release serves as FILLY’s first offering of the new year and marks The Teenagers’ return to releasing new music after over 17 years. “Serious” is built for the club and effortlessly combines FILLY and The Teenagers’ undeniable pop melodies with a hilariously relatable rant about a crush with a twist. It bridges the frantic energy of a late-night confession with the defiant decision to dance all your worries away.
“I’m so excited for ’Serious’ to be my first track to kick off the new year. It’s fun and a heavy bass driven single that gives a sneak peak of what else is to come in 2026 for me! It’s a queer love story with a twist. <33 I feel so excited and honored that The Teenagers hopped on the track.” - FILLY
“We recently started making music again after a long break and when FILLY came to us to work together on “Serious” we got super excited. This track is quite electroclash/indie sleaze/nu rave coded - both lyrically and musically, so it felt very appropriate to do a feature and work with our friend on this one” - The Teenagers
This release marks the second entry in a new chapter for FILLY. Known for crafting music that merges hyperpop gloss with the pulse of European club culture, she’s carved out a space that feels equally at home on festival stages and in underground clubs. With more music on the way and a debut album in the works, “Serious” signals exactly what’s to come: an artist embracing individuality, leaning into duality, and bringing her world to every stage she steps onto.
ABOUT FILLY
FILLY’s alien isn’t an escape from reality — it’s a closer look at it. What initially started as a visual for her 2025 single, “Whatever Happens” (Bamboo Artists), has since become a vehicle for her to explore complex emotional terrain and the human condition from the wide eyes of an extraterrestrial experiencing life on Earth for the very first time. Ironically, it’s by looking through this otherworldly lens that the 27-year-old artist, who’s built a career rooted in unfiltered storytelling, arrives at her most human songwriting yet.
While her music courts complicated topics, it does so with a style and energy that makes the message hit without weighing listeners down. With sugar rush-slicked synths and shimmery, genre-fluid production, FILLY’s high-gloss, dance-inflected hyperpop plays like a diary entry beamed from another planet. Her sound is intentionally club-facing and fun but always layered; beneath her songs’ fluorescent polish is a beating heart that finds expression in sound. Its confessions spill into glittering pop structures where influence — sometimes trance, sometimes dubstep, other times, drum & bass — is always shifting, but the hooks are built to stick.
This skill traces back to the years she spent toplining behind the scenes, lending her voice and pen to other artists’ tracks. While the experience strengthened her songwriting muscle, it eventually sparked a desire to write songs she could fully claim. Launching her own artist project provided the opportunity for complete creative control and unprecedented self-expression, complete with early-2000s Eurodance flair and Y2K inspo.
Since she broke out in 2022 with her debut single “Motorola,” the Vienna, Austria based artist has developed her sound across a steady stream of singles that paved the way to her EP’s Watching Strangers Smile (2023), her 2024 Cowgirl In A Cowboy World EP, signing with (slowplay/Interscope Records/Bamboo Artists) in 2025, and soon, her debut studio album. The project will bridge FILLY’s two emotional poles: her hyperbolic alien persona, anchored in high BPMs and a larger-than-life presence, and the human behind the green face paint who’s ready to scale back the spectacle and show another side of herself in the process.
Over the summer, the Vienna-based singer/songwriter/DJ/producer took her singular brand of sound to Lollapalooza Berlin. Come fall, she’ll expand her road resume again by supporting SOPHIE & THE GIANTS on five dates of their November European tour. Whether on a festival bill or behind a club’s decks, FILLY brings her world with her. In it, you’ll always find a bit of your own.
About The Teenagers
Do you remember The Teenagers? Three French guys, in their mid twenties, friends since high school who, after a non-eventful suburban adolescence and a disappointing glimpse at adult life, started recording songs for fun in 2006. Long story short, after uploading their tracks to Myspace, they were signed to London based indie labels Merok / xl recordings (Klaxons, Crystal Castles…) then traveled the world (in economy). For about four years, they played in 25 countries, performed at legendary festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, Coachella, and Summer Sonic… and had the best time ever.
Eventually, for various reasons, it wasn’t fun or easy anymore, so, in typical teenage manner, they gave up on music altogether and switched careers, moving into writing, professional streaming and fashion design. Their debut (and only) album, Reality Check, was released in 2008, that’s seventeen years ago!! And even though it all seemed long over, the indie sleaze revival brought the band a new wave of nostalgic Millennials as well as Gen Z fans.
This renewed excitement led Dorian and Quentin to start writing music together again in late 2025, picking up exactly where they left off. The band is currently working with LA-based producers atlgrandma (The Hellp, The Dare…) and Raven Artson (Coco & Clair Clair, True Blue…) after connecting online via social media and bonding over their vision for The Teenagers 2.0. The band will be releasing new music in 2026.
