“The magnetism of Ayra Starr’s flow and fire is undeniable” – The Guardian

GRAMMY-nominated, double MOBO Award-winning global Afrobeats superstar Ayra Starr is turning up the heat with ‘Hot Body’ – a tantalising new track arriving at the peak of summer, primed for intimacy on a sweaty dancefloor.

Charged by a thrumming, hypnotic synth bassline and sun-soaked Afrobeats percussions, ‘Hot Body’ allows Ayra Starr’s signature honeyed-vocals to permeate a soundscape that transcends the norms of Afro-music while completely retaining its unmistakable presence.

‘Hot Body’ is co-written by Ayra Starr and Deeno, and produced by Ragee (who produced ‘Commas’ - her multi-million streaming global anthem) with additional production by The Elements. The single lands ahead of Ayra Starr’s anticipated return to the UK with Coldplay on their epic sold-out stadium dates next month. The Afrobeats star will be performing at Craven Park, Hull, on 18 and 19 August before storming Wembley Stadium on 22 and 23 August.

This run marks Ayra Starr’s biggest stage in the UK since she made history last summer as the first Afrobeats artist to ever play Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage.

2025, thus far, has seen Ayra Starr hit many new career highs. After scooping two MOBO Awards in February and becoming the first female artist in 16 years to win Best African Music Act; she dropped her scorching collaboration with Wizkid ‘Gimme Dat’. The track swiftly racked up over 22 million Spotify streams in two months to become one of the planet’s biggest Afrobeats hits of the year. Ayra Starr went on to make her Met Gala debut in May with Ozwald Boateng, and picked up her first BET Award for Best International Act. The fast-rising musician will also be making her Hollywood debut in the film adaptation of Children of Blood and Bone, starring alongside Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo and Lashana Lynch.

Now with over 3 BILLION global streams, 1 BILLION YouTube views and a string of instantly-recognisable collaborations across different genres; it is clear Ayra Starr brings her culture with her wherever she goes – breaking barriers and creating ‘firsts’ for African artists. Note ‘Santa’, her collaboration with Rvssian and Rauw Alejandro, which has over half a billion Spotify streams, and ‘Bora Bora’ with AP Dhillon, a hotly-tipped rapper and producer making waves in the Punjabi music scene.
