HUNTER METTS

The Indie-Folk Storyteller Finding Peace in the Blue Ridge Mountains

By HQ

Nashville-born singer-songwriter and producer Hunter Metts returns with his most transportive release yet: “Blue Ridge Run,” a poetic, wide-open love letter to the Appalachian landscape. Co-produced with Andrew Berlin and released via Position Music/Interscope Records, the single channels the quiet majesty of nature and the freedom it brings—both musically and emotionally. With over 47 million streams on his viral hit “Weathervane” and a debut U.S. headline tour on the horizon this fall, Metts is stepping fully into his moment.

After years working as a coder, Metts found his true path in music, releasing a string of acclaimed singles and his debut EP Monochrome, which explored the many forms of love. Now, with “Blue Ridge Run” and his upcoming A Crater Wide Tour, he continues to carve out space in the indie-folk world with his soul-stirring vocals, personal lyricism, and immersive production style.

TMRW sat down with Hunter Metts to talk about inspiration, freedom, Appalachian escapes, and his evolution from American Idol favorite to authentic, fearless artist.
