Stream a brand new dancefloor anthem.
Kiimi is a London-based DJ and producer renowned for their innovative blend of club-ready beats and emotive production. Quickly becoming one of the most exciting names in the UK underground scene, the success of their 2023 single "Earth” led Kiimi to appearances at BBC Radio 1 Dance Weekend in Ibiza and major festival slots.
Today, tmrw is premiering Kiimi’s dreamy new single “History,” which features vocalist Taite Imogen. "History" perfectly encapsulates Kiimi’s signature sound.
It’s a fresh mix of future-facing vibes with nostalgic early 00s French Touch elements and slick lyricism.
This end-of-summer anthem is set to be an unforgettable addition to any dancefloor. You can hear for yourself why English DJ Pete Tong dubbed Kiimi a “Future Star.”
Taite Imogen previously lent her immaculate vocals to the smash hit “God Is The Space Between Us” by Barry Can’t Swim. “History” was the first song Kiimi has ever made with a featured vocalist and top liner.
“The process was a whole new experience,” Kiimi told tmrw. “It felt more like a traditional pop way of working. The beat came together really quickly in a period of time when I was listening to a lot of French House, and I immediately thought of Taite for the track. She’s been a friend for years and it’s been so beautiful watching her grow with her own music and on collaborations with Barry Can’t Swim and salute.”
Kiimi sent Taite Imogen the track and fell in love with the first idea she sent back.”The rest was history,” Kiimi quips. “I’m so sorry. I had to.” Just when I thought Kiimi’s music had won me over, they came in with the dad jokes. Legendary.
“History” is Kiimi’s favorite track to perform in their live sets. They’ve been playing it out across DJ shows this summer, with a sold-out debut at London’s The Social and a memorable set at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend. A proper release feels long overdue.
Kiimi’s showing signs of a promising trajectory. Catch them live this summer across the UK/EU at Junction 2 in London and Ibiza’s He.She.They at Amnesia and Solid Grooves @ DC10.
