Master Peace Calls For Support Of Grassroots Venues With Sharp, Raucous Single “No More Underground”

Rising new-wave artist Master Peace makes his highly anticipated return with the release of his new single No More Underground, delivering a blistering fusion of raucous rock spirit and his signature indie sleaze influence.

The track nods to the struggles faced by grassroots music venues today, taking aim at the pressures of rising costs and the increasing threat of closures across the industry. Building on the massive success of his acclaimed debut album, How To Make Master Peace, and last year’s follow-up EP, How To Make A(nuva) Master Peace, this latest release marks the start of a thrilling new chapter in his career.

With a headline show on the 24th April at The Windmill, this release will coincide with a campaign in support of grassroots music venues. Rather than being distributed on DSPs, the track will be available exclusively as a free download from Master Peace’s website. The song will later feature on Peace’s upcoming project, set for release later this year. Speaking on the release, Peace states:

There’s no more underground’ is out now. For free download on my website.

you might be wondering why i’ve chosen to release music this way, especially after a long time of not releasing music.

‘There’s no more underground’ is about how normal people like us have been pushed and priced out of doing anything… so I thought I wanted to release it in a way that even if you didn’t have streaming or internet or whatever you could download it and keep it and listen to it, no matter what

to everyone who has been on this journey with me, spending your hard earned doe on gigs and tickets and travel and everything… this one’s for you cos with you the underground venues, artists and music would be dead without you.

It’s very important that we support grassroots venues, keep the ones keeping the culture alive afloat and just have some fucking funnnnn.

Infused with crashing guitars, pounding drums, and punchy, direct vocals, No More Underground captures Master Peace at his most unapologetic. With searing lyrics instilling the loss of treasured underground venues, and the shrinking spaces left for genuine fun, the track is propelled by Peace’s ferocious, ever-evolving sound.

Fresh from supporting Franz Ferdinand on their UK/EU tour, where he won over audiences with his electric stage presence, Master Peace continues to cement his reputation as a force to be reckoned with. His dynamic performances and raw authenticity have caught the attention of industry tastemakers, notably earning him a spot on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music 25 Artists to Watch for 2025.

No More Underground is the first taste of new music since Master Peace’s EP, How To Make A(nuva) Master Peace, captivated critics and fans alike, which went on to receive praise from areas such as Hypebeast, Notion, Clash, DORK, Billboard, and more. With this latest release, Master Peace expands his musical boundaries, drawing from his recent collaborations and an ever-growing pool of influences, new and old.

As he steps into this new chapter, Master Peace continues to evolve his sound, offering listeners a fresh, dynamic take on the UK indie scene, with his sharp, expressive vocals and a knack for raw lyricism.
