GLOBAL MUSIC SUPERSTARS MR EAZI AND KING PROMISE REUNITE FOR MILLENNIAL POP NOSTALGIA REIMAGINATION ‘THAT WAY’

‘THAT WAY’ SERVES AS SECOND SINGLE FROM MR EAZI AND KING PROMISE’S FORTHCOMING JOINT PROJECT ‘SEE WHAT WE’VE DONE’ ARRIVING THIS SPRING

Five months after their summer 2025 hit collaboration ‘See What We’ve Done’, GRAMMY Award-winning trailblazer and creative innovator MR EAZI and international afropop sensation KING PROMISE have joined forces again for ‘THAT WAY’, a smooth and infectious new track that flips millennial pop nostalgia on its head, and turns it into an unmistakable afrobeats hit for right now. The track is anchored by a clever and instantly familiar reference point as it interpolates the Backstreet Boys 1999 classic ‘I Want It That Way’, and reimagines it through a modern afropop lens that uses nostalgia as a conduit for connection. Serving as the second single from their forthcoming joint album See What We’ve Done, ‘That Way’ also excellently captures the ease of the creative partnership between Eazi and King Promise, rooted in genuine musical kinship and real friendship.

Produced by GRAMMY Award-winning hitmakers GuiltyBeatz (Beyoncé, Tems, Jorja Smith) and JAE5 (J-Hus, Dave, Skepta), ‘That Way’ is built on warmth, restraint and feeling, and driven by King Promise’s silky-smooth melodies gliding alongside Mr Eazi’s effortless vocal delivery. At its core, the track is an unpretentious love song all about devotion, which sees Eazi and King Promise waxing lyrical about falling for the kind of woman that shifts your entire worldview with the kind of disorienting clarity that comes when someone becomes irreplaceable. ‘That Way’ also comes with a warm and intimate music video shot on location in London, directed by Charlie Rees (Sasha Keable, Fat Boy Slim, Nova Twins) and produced by Oculens (Victoria Monet, AJ Tracey, Jorja Smith), which brings the song even further to life, and amplifies the song’s nostalgic-yet-modern tone.

‘That Way’ is taken from Mr Eazi and King Promise’s forthcoming joint album See What We’ve Done, which sees the West African pop superstars channelling years of shared musical language and creative alignment into a focused joint statement in a project built around chemistry, conversation, and emotional richness. Following a proven run of fan-favourite collaborations that include ‘Dabebi’, ‘Call Waiting’, ‘Baby I’m Jealous’, ‘Oh Yeah’, and last summer’s smash hit ‘See What We’ve Done’, their joint album captures what makes their pairing so captivatingly good: an intuitive understanding of each other’s strengths, a shared vision for the limitlessness of African pop music, and a commitment to writing timeless songs that resonate. Rooted in reflection, connection and evolution, their new project is positioned as a meditation on growth, from how love changes you, and how friendships and relationships mature, to how you hold on to joy without losing depth.

ABOUT KING PROMISE

Born and raised in Accra, King Promise has become one of Africa’s most distinctive modern hitmakers, whose music helped define the modern Ghanaian wave. Known for his velvet vocals and undeniable star presence, the award-winning artist is an emotionally fluent singer, songwriter and performer whose effortless sound sits at the sweet spot between afrobeats, highlife, R&B and hip-hop. Raised on a diet of reggae, classic R&B, boyband pop and Ghanaian highlife, thanks to a “music head” father who kept the house loud, King Promise grew into what he proudly calls “the vibe supplier”, and an ardent storyteller writing from lived experience, whether it’s love, hustle, nightlife or family. After early standouts like ‘So Special’ and ‘No Problem’, his breakout hit ‘Thank God’ featuring Fuse ODG set the tone for a career built on captivating songwriting, feel-good energy, infectious melodies, and songs that make people move without losing emotional resonance.

King Promise has since evolved into an international force with a catalogue of era-shaping hits and essential tracks such as ‘Oh Yeah’, ‘Commando’, and the worldwide smash hit ‘Terminator’, as he pairs his Ghana-rooted identity with global reach and impact. A natural collaborator and scene-connector, he has worked with an international roster that includes Wizkid, Davido, Sarkodie, R2Bees, Juls, NSG, Mabel and Fridayy to deliver some of the biggest global music songs of the modern era. He continues to stay sonically curious in his music, pulling inspiration from Ghanaian drill, the South African amapiano movement, and UK Black music, without ever diluting the smooth signature that fans know him for. Coming on the back of the success of his third studio album True To Self, King Promise continues to sharpen his mission as both hitmaker and cultural bridge – always supplying the vibes with craft, warmth, and the kind of timeless melody that travels.
