Takes tmrw Behind the Scenes in London, One Snapshot at a Time

By Hasan Beyaz

From fashion shows to live performances, solo star Yves captures a different side of London through the lens of a single-use camera.

On her latest London trip, Yves documented the city through a collection of candid snapshots for tmrw. Between London Fashion Week appearances, matcha hunts, and a live set for Stone Island, her photo diary offers an intimate glimpse into the places, people and small moments that made the trip memorable.

Architectural details became reminders to Yves of a city where the past and future coexist, while the sunlight filtering through the windows of a church hosting the London-based ethereal designer Bora Aksu’s show offered a softer kind of beauty. Flowers matching her new red hair and a butterfly she received at the SUSAN FANG show became unexpected highlights. At Chinese womenswear designer YUHAN WANG’s show – Yves’ final fashion appearance of the trip – she arrived early enough to appreciate the space before the crowds gathered.

Music brought a different energy to the trip. Behind the scenes at Stone Island Sound Presents: Paix Per Mil, Yves captured the preparations leading up to the event, from rehearsals to performances by friends Mechatok and IOAH, before taking to the stage herself. Seeing her fans enjoying themselves reinforced her belief that an artist’s own happiness is essential to creating a shared experience. The following day, she headlined Margins United, a celebration of alternative East and Southeast Asian culture, reuniting with the team behind her second European tour earlier that year.

Between the crowds and the commitments, Yves also found time to sit in the grass, look up at the sky and reconnect with nature. These are the moments that make her London diary a portrait of the person behind them.

Experience London through the eyes of Yves, complete with her self-written caption for each snap.

A building I spotted outside the fashion show. London feels like a place where the past and the future exist side by side.

Found a quiet corner to sneak in a photo. I love watching fashion shows, but posing for pictures in front of people? Still awkward.

A stranger came up and started talking to me… It was so sweet, but I got so flustered I can’t even remember what I said…

The Bora Aksu show took place inside a church. The sunlight coming through the windows was so beautiful.

YUHAN WANG, my last fashion show in London. I arrived early and took some photos. The space was already beautiful before the show even began.

London gets so much colder at night. I wore a short skirt and spent the whole evening freezing. But the outfit was so cute!

At the café near where I was staying, on a day off. I got obsessed with matcha lattes in London and tried them everywhere. This one… didn’t make the cut.

Showtime! Being surrounded by my fans always feels amazing. I also performed a new song for the first time that day, which made it even more exciting.

This photo of IOAH performing makes me laugh hahaha. My friend who always helps bring my musical world to life. Thank youuuu~

You can feel it when the crowd is having a good time. I think if I want everyone else to enjoy themselves, I have to be enjoying myself too.

A photo from a little outing on my day off. I love woody scents, I love green… Nature and I are pretty much inseparable!!!

Sitting on the grass in a park whose name I don’t know, looking up at the sky. The sunlight through the branches was so beautiful I had to take a photo. Nature has a way of surprising me like that.

The day of my Margins United performance. The team behind the event had worked with me on my last European tour, so it was lovely to see them again. We fell right back into our rhythm. They even wore Yves T-shirts. That really touched me.

A photo with some pretty flowers outside the Bora Aksu show. They were the exact same colour as my new hair! I was strangely happy to meet them.

With the butterfly I received at the SUSAN FANG show. There’s a saying in Korea that a butterfly visiting you is someone you miss coming to see you. I wonder who this one could be?
